But when she mentions Mujika, Norman's face twists and he refers to her as a 'heretic girl' suggesting he knows her. Even if the younger children are quick to trust Norman, Emma can't forget Sonju and Mujika who helped her survive. Having lived among demons for years, Emma has realized that they too have families and are not purely evil.

Season 1 has made it clear that she's a pacifist who will avoid casualties at all costs. In truth, their home is a farm, and the children are just human meat, food for the demons. The happy days at Grace Field House ended abruptly. Until suddenly, their lives are completely changed forever. Norman has found out that demons' brains degenerate if they don't consume human meat and has come up with a way to hasten the process, ending them and making the world safe for humans again. An irreplaceable home for the 38 children that all live happily every day, even if they were strangers at first. Being the genius that he is, Norman managed to escape along with other humans who - though older than him - treat him as their superior and heed his orders. Rather than being eaten by demons, Norman was taken to a different plantation that experimented on children. But halfway through the episode, it becomes clear that their friendship might never again be uncomplicated. Emma, Ray, and Norman are together again in an emotional, if too idealized, and convenient reunion. While episode 5 was quite action-packed, with the children on the run, episode 6 was all about emotional conflict.
